Long Weekend

This week I took Kieran out a couple of times on my own. Other than doctors appointments, we haven't ventured out much as just the two us (other than our walks). It's much easier to get out with James around so he can feed Kieran while I pump and we can be on our way. By myself...I need to time my pump just right to make it work.

So, on Thursday we visited my friends at my old job and on Friday we went into my current office. Friday was challenging as Kieran was very cranky that morning but we made it work. We had a nice visit at both places and it was fun to show him off and visit with friends!

Saturday and Sunday we ran a few errands with Kieran. He made his first trip to TJ Maxx (I love that place, James, not so much), Whole Foods and later we hit the mall. Of course, being totally wrapped around Kieran's finger, we left with several "just too cute" items from Baby Gap. Sure, it's over priced and he'll grow out of them in no time but it's just too hard to resist.

Today, we've tried to somewhat relax. James did yard work, I did some house work (a little easier now that buddy weighs enough to fit into the Baby Bjorn) and we went out for ice cream and then we grilled.

Kieran also seems to be going through a growth spurt, so feeding him can be challenging sometimes. We never know just how much he'll need these days so some feedings take a while because we keep having to go back for more. Therefore, we've avoided feeding him in public places right now. I know, we'll have to deal with that eventually but for now we'd rather deal with his crazed breakdowns for food here at home!

Some facts about Kieran (which makes me feel like he's growing up so fast):

• He is starting to smile at us more and we're pretty sure it's a social smile and not a "I have gas" smile.


• He enjoys baby massage.


• He's upgraded to Stage 2 bottle nipples (he would exhaust himself with the Stage 1 and fall asleep...constantly!)


• He's starting to fit into some 0-3 month clothes now.
