4 Months, The Baileys and a Fever...

Let's start with Kieran's 4 month birthday and check-up. He spent a lot of his b-day in the car, since we were returning from Christiansburg that day. However, when we got home, we made sure he still had his cake!

Yes, this is him "standing". We aren't holding him at all. He loves to stand on our laps so I figured why not give it a shot? He loves to do this now and can keep himself up for several seconds sometimes!

On Friday, buddy had his 4 month check-up. His latest stats:

-13.6lbs
-24 1/4 inches

He also got another round of vaccines. He took them pretty well but I'm sure you can tell from the title of this post, things changed!

That evening after his check-up, Auntie Amanda and Uncle Dave came to stay for the night on their way to the beach! We went out for a low key pizza dinner and got to catch-up. Kieran was a little off schedule that day so he woke to eat during dinner but then was fine after that and slept through the night.

Saturday morning we went to breakfast with The Baileys and they spent some quality time loving Kieran before they hit the road to the beach! They brought buddy some great new books and some adorable clothes! Plus, Auntie Amanda scored a few hardback Harry Potters for me!

We were supposed to meet with the photographer that took Kieran's picture a few weeks back that afternoon. Unfortunately, for once, mommy's paranoia was spot on. Kieran has been on and off congested for a few weeks now but it's never really seemed to bother him. Late in the week, it seemed to be a little worse, but again, he seemed fine. I guess the slight cold mixed with the vaccines was a bit much and he had a fever all of Sat. He was a little more fussy than usual but otherwise, you really wouldn't have known he was sick. It was a blah day anyway so I went to the photographer alone and then the three us sat tight the rest of the day. Poor little baby wouldn't sleep though and he really needed to. He didn't sleep well overnight either.

He still had a fever Sunday morning but you really wouldn't know it. He was very happy and playful. By late afternoon, the fever seemed to pass. He's such a little trooper! Being a total sucker, daddy felt he needed something to cheer him up and help him get over his "illness". So, now we have this hideous monster in our living room. Yes, I think it's totally ugly and huge but buddy seems to LOVE it...so that makes it ok by me!

Of course, I'm sure this sickness thing will be a vicious cycle with daycare...I say this because guess who else got a cold? :-)
