Like all new parents, we were so excited for Kieran's first Christmas. We've never been big on the holiday while it was just us, but now that he's here we have gone a bit overboard. Kieran has been fighting a bad cough and cold all week and has just started teething, so we weren't sure what we were in for.

He started out fine and was happy to try and move in on Santa's milk and cookies on Christmas Eve.
Bring on Santa. I'm ready.
We went to get him from his crib on Christmas morning to find that he had been sick sometime during the night. Something you never want to see because your mind starts going crazy. He had no fever and was talking, playing, smiling and laughing. He seemed fine except for the complete lack of appetite! Kieran has changed a lot over the past few months, but he has never turned down food. After opening just a few presents, he was ready for a nap and slept for nearly two hours. After some good downtime, he seemed back to normal and was ready to tear through the rest of his gifts and spend some time with Grandma.
That night he slept pretty soundly, and we were relieved because he had been coughing pretty badly the past few nights. We checked him a few times through the night, and everything seemed to be a.o.k. The next morning, I went to get him from his crib and found that he had gotten sick again. This led to a freak out for both of us. Do we call the pediatrician? What are they going to tell us? We had just taken him in on Wednesday, and he got a clean bill of health except for the cold.
We read through a few chapters in our books and decided to monitor him a bit more before we called. He still didn't have his appetite, but he was acting like his usual self. He was a bit needier than usual (a bit of I-want-nobody-but-daddy). I didn't mind it, but I know he'll turn on me sooner or later. Even though he was doing okay, we camped out at home all day for some good R&R.
Today has been much better. No sickness. No coughing. Eating most of his bottles and food. We've been playing, watching football and catching some Zzz on the couch together. We found some time to practice his new found skills (clucking his tongue and shaking his head from left to right as if saying no). We even tried our hand at crawling again. No forward momentum yet, but he's definitely getting the moves down.
Check out my teeth!
It sucks that he wasn't feeling his best, but we had a great first Christmas and we hope everyone else did as well!

Merry Xmas! Aside from the sickness looks like you all had a great one! Our two K's must be on the same wavelength b/c our little guy did very little eating during the holidays as well - we think it might be teething...Unfortunately, Mehul & made up for Kam's lack of eating!
