Catching Up

We've been away for a while now, and we have a lot of things to catch up on. Daddy went to Florida the week after Labor Day to return to a sick little man. Apparently Kieran caught my cold that somehow morphed into something a bit more. It started with a rash then a fever. Needless to say mommy and daddy were a little worried as our imaginations began to run wild, but the doctor reassured us that it was "normal" and to keep the Tylenol flowing if he needed it. It gave us an excuse to spend an extra day with him, mommy on Monday and daddy on Tuesday.

Don't worry about me daddy. I'm okay!

Kieran hit the 5 month mark last Wednesday. Keeping up with tradition, mommy got our little guy a cupcake to celebrate the occasion. He's trying to sit on his own now but is still a bit wobbly as you can see.

I might need to get a closer look at that!

We got him a jumper, but he'd rather use it as a lounger at this point. His favorite position is one foot on the floor with the other in the air and slightly pushing to get some movement.
Jump? You jump! I'm just hangin' out. (bad joke daddy)

Kieran's really taking an interest in food these days. We try and let him watch us eat as much as we can. He gets pretty excited and begins to drool more than usual. He really gets a kick out of cups. If you let one get anywhere close to him, then he grabs for it. We will let him take drinks from our cups (sorry uncle jeremy... water only), and he loves the act of it. Once the water hits his mouth, he'll lap at it like a little puppy but quickly lets it dribble out. He makes a face but reaches for the glass again if you let it get close. He's either glutten for punishment or really wants to be like his mommy and daddy. My mom was able to get a good picture of him doing it, but we don't have it. We'll share one soon though.

Of course, we think he'll try and eat just about anything. Maybe some teeth...

This past weekend we decided, well mommy decided, it was time to let him try some rice cereal. I'm not against the idea, but it's just another sign that he's growing way too quickly. Anyway, the event went as we thought it would. He was intrigued by the idea of eating like the two of us, but he wasn't so concerned about keeping it in his mouth. As you can imagine, most of it ended up on his face or bib rather than in his tummy.

Like I said, we've had a lot going on. He's getting bigger everyday, and we're just trying to keep up!
